Hey! I’m Nathan Soria, a registered associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT) based in Pasadena, California, serving clients both in-person and virtually throughout California, supervised by Charles Zeng, LMFT, #125683 and Dr. Kevin Niehaus, LPCC, #8824. It’s a pleasure to meet you!

I have undergraduate research experience in San Diego State’s Child Development Lab and completed my MFT traineeship at Child and Teen Counseling in Woodland Hills. I got my Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge in December 2025.

I specialize in working with kids, adolescents, teens, young adults, and families! I have extensive experience working with adolescents and teenagers on issues such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, video game usage, addiction, autism spectrum support, phobias (particularly emetophobia), and more.

Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy watching sports, such as baseball, soccer, and tennis, playing tennis myself, and I am also a competitive Rubik’s Cube Speedcuber!

As an Asian American therapist of Chinese and Filipino heritage, I am committed to providing culturally responsive and affirming care to children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. I recognize that each person's experiences are shaped by their unique cultural background, relationships, and life experiences, and I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered. I approach each client with curiosity, looking to learn the most I can about them and looking for the best way to serve them in a collaborative environment.

My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness-based interventions (MBCT), motivational-interviewing (MI), Person-Centered, and Rogerian principles to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns while developing practical strategies for meaningful and lasting change. I also look to create the most warm and inviting environment possible, as each client's comfort and ease is of the utmost importance for me.

I believe that healing begins within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued as we work together to navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and move toward your personal goals. I hope to be able to guide each client in the way that they feel most comfortable while also looking to promote growth and resiliency.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or a loved one, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey!
